Hello! I teach music lessons at my studio in downtown Ithaca, located just two blocks from the Commons. Parents of small children are always welcome to stay for lessons or to drop off and return at the end of the session.
For homeschool groups of two or more children, I offer home visits.

Lessons for teens & adults
Beginning Guitar or Ukelele - $50 for 45 minutes
A twelve-lesson course covering the ten basic “open position” chords. Students learn ten popular songs, plus two or three simplified versions of songs they enjoy.
Intermediate Guitar - $50 for 45 minutes
This level of instruction focuses on moving students from “playing tunes” to expressing themselves musically. These lessons can be highly individualized, but typically focus on skills like finger-picking, barre chords, jazz chords, and songwriting.
Advanced Guitar & Music Theory - $75 for 45 minutes
Is there a particular guitar skill you want to improve? Is there a genre you would like to play more authentically? Or would you like to brush up on musical theory as it applies to guitar? Contact Liam to design an individualized lesson plan.
Lessons for children ages 7-12
Listening Lessons Music Course - $40 per student for 60 minutes
Young children love music - but they don’t have the words they need to describe what they enjoy most. Perfect for homeschoolers, this course explores the cultural, historical, emotive, and physical aspects of music. It will train children’s ears to hear and appreciate subtle musical concepts and give them the language to express their musical tastes and preferences. Contact Liam for a sample syllabus. Rate per child is open to negotiation for larger groups.
